aaah - Father Time - ticking away....man - it's been so long since the last contact basically i'm now like a bearded kinda castaway talking to myself....not entirely true....sometimes the boys come round and play music....we're deeeeeeep in the zone working on the new FINK lp, as yet untitled - and we're taking our sweet time.....like - ....sorry for that - but we promise the extra cooking time will make the sauce richer.....

since cold March it's been awesome to just slow down a bit, a little LA time (I won a coveted BMI Pop award for my work with John Legend last year - which was cool - my pale tour tan turned into a Lobster kinda red - strong look for me) and watching the World Cup from home is awesome - the last one we were on a european tour - so had to catch the games before soundsheck - i remember actually playing the legendary Rotown in Rotterdam and someone shouting out the scores to us while we were playing....this time we can all enjoy the horror - apart from Mr. T, whose whole experience of any kind of football is one of Horror and bewilderment - he writes books.....His new one - "Death Of An Unsigned Band" - is great by the way - expect shameless plugging through all Fink channels on release...

i'v posted the Sideshow Remix of "Q&A" on the Myspace....basically.....Ninja Tune have let us collect all the Sideshow remixes of Fink - very kind - and put them out on Aus Records, deep, minimal stalwart of all things minimalicious - featured are 3 exclusives - and this is one of them - anyone in Berlin on the 3rd come and join the Aus roster for some serious 4beat RSI.....

sorry for the radio silence - the writing process doesn't really lend itself to inter-activity...enjoy the mix

we posted a track we found on one of our tapes - a track Naked For Life - it's like a track which never made the SOR album and we forgot about it - then stumbled accross it - so we thought - hey - have it....the link to grab it is on the myspace......it's kinda chilling....we also posted it on the player for a while....

also - we got the footage from our appearance on the Arte show One Shot Not from the awesome Julie (she's in shot at the beginning - the behind the scenes powerhouse of French Music ) - so it's up and posted - with Manu Katche, the legendary drummer, joining us on the end of a rousing rendition of This Is The Thing....we loved this show...The Ben Howard did it the week before us - his link is well worth finding too......here's the link to youtube

Holland was freezing a few weeks ago - we did this gig in Uttrecht at the fantastic Tivoli De Heling - the van was sliding all over the place - buses hitting lampposts, cars hitting each other, the Rock Van was like tokyo drifting all oevr the jhawn - we did the gig which we thoroughly enjoyed - a rammed Tivoli was a real pleasure - meanwhile it was snowing so hard and we almost had to dig the van out to drive home - Holland had apparently "run out of salt" - so the motorways were just covered in snow - we crawled back to the hotel in Amsterdam in the snow with our great friends Nath and Eline and what was left of our rider.....with all the equipment packed into the middle of the rock van for stability....

awesome - we love holland - we'll be back in a few weeks for the Motel Mozaique festival...which was actually our first festival back in the day in 06....thanks o everyone who came down on a snowy night to the amazing Vera in Gronigen too - that was a cracker....and it was a real pleasure to hit that one again...

then we joined Gilles Peterson and co. at the Worldwide Awards in london - played with Andreya Triana and Bonobo on double bass - ok - i got the key wrong on one of the tracks - forcing Bonobo to "get creative" on the bass ;) - but it was fun - Floating Points Orchestra were astounding live - it looked like a disaster was iminent (17 peice orchestra, no soundcheck, holloways Garage club) but they were amazing.....the jazzy dudes who were on later were also pretty nimble and Joy Orbison won track of the year for his really cool "Hyph" track....nice.......talking of randoms - i also played the Arthur Russell tribute gig at the Institute Of Contemporary Arts in London a few weeks back....weird to be back there, the scene of our first gig - on The Mall with Buckingham Palace at the end of the road...

much love - back to the studio....

Free Download from the studio vaults....

"We found this B-Side while digging through tapes - "Naked For Life" didn't make the last album, and we just forgot about it....grab it now - we'll take it down in a month or so....."
